EXPO CANN RIO

In august of 2019, Rio de Janeiro will host Brazil’s first sustainable medicinal and industrial cannabis conference EXPOCANNRIO bringing together from all over the world companies and experts at the forefront of their fields to Brazil’s emerging medicinal cannabis market.
According to a 2018 study by New Frontier Data  sponsored by The Green Hub Brazil’s consumption of medicinal cannabis has been growing exponentially in the last few years, mainly in the form of increased authorised imports. The study estimates that the market could grow to over US$1.4 billion in 36 months if the Brazilian Healthy Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) announces anticipated new regulations for the cultivation and sale of medicinal cannabis.
This would be a watershed moment for what could potentially be Latin American’s biggest medicinal market. Finally, after many years of work by advocates, lawyers, patient associations such as Cultive, Abracannabis, Apepi, and many others, concrete and extensive governmental regulation of medicinal cannabis is on the horizon.
